About Us

Janith Homes was founded in 1978 when the family who lived at The Rookery.

Over the years it has developed and grown into a successful venture, providing high quality accomodation for individuals with varying degrees of learning disability.

The Janith Homes ethos is to provide quality care by placing the welfare of residents first. Homes support them to live as independently as possible, encouraging integration into the community and the social, educational and working opportunities available.

Current owner Martin Bastow says: "We have created a settled and harmonious atmosphere where we embrace and support personal diversity empowering the whole individual.

"We offer an environment that fosters personal development and helps residents make their own unique contribution to daily life, without pressure to succeed at a set rate or in a certain manner."

Excellent accommodation, care provision and day services make Janith Homes one of the finest independent facilities for care in the UK as shown in its Care Quality Commission reports, Investors in People status and testimonials.

The belief is that no matter what a person's existing ability, every individual has potential beyond their assumed level. We provide our residents with the comfort and space to achieve new goals and live a meaningful life to the full.

Goals are identified through person centred care plans. Residents participate in choosing a keyworker who will mentor and support them to reach their personal potential.
